Rancho Park Homes For Sale

Rancho Park, located just west of Century City and Cheviot Hills, is a neighborhood in west Los Angeles with many single family homes.  It is adjacent to the Rancho Park Golf Course and has many tree lined streets and grassy areas.  The neighborhood was once part of Westwood until Olympic Blvd. cut across the area in the 1930’s separating it to the south.

Many of the Spanish Colonial bungalows and ranch style houses have been upgraded into larger and more modern architecture, but the area still has a peaceful suburban appeal.  Some Rancho Park streets feature 19-th century style streetlights and are heavily planted with trees along the sidewalks.  Residents can join Hillcrest Country Club or enjoy the Westside Pavilion shopping center and it digital-technology movie theater with gourmet concessions, restaurants, and retail stores.

Los Angeles Unified School District provides 6 public schools to the neighborhood, and there are also 4 private schools nearby.  The municipal Rancho Park Golf Course includes a banquet room, cart and club rental, clubhouse, a lighted driving range, lessons, locker rooms, practice putting greens, a pro shop, rental clubs, and a snack bar.

West Los Angeles Homes for Sale

West Los Angeles is an area about 10 miles west of downtown L.A. that varies in its definition from being the entire “west-side” from Century City east all the way to Santa Monica, but sometimes used to refer just a smaller area between Santa Monica Blvd. and West Pico Blvd. to the north and south, and between Rancho Park and Sawtelle to the east and west.  Homes in these neighborhoods are highly sought after because of their closer proximity to the ocean, but they are also easy to access from the rest of Los Angeles via the I-10, I-405, or Route 2 (Santa Monica Blvd.), or the L.A. Metro system.

West Los Angeles is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.  The neighborhood has access to 13 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, all public.  There are also about 12 private schools in the area and nearby.

Residents can use the large recreation center located in Stoner Park, at the intersection of Nebraska and Stoner Avenues.  The center includes provides many activities: a waterpark, barbecue pits, a children’s play area, an indoor gym, picnic tables, and a lighted outdoor facilities (soccer field, tennis courts, baseball diamond, football field, outdoor basketball courts, and volleyball courts).  The annual Cherry Blossom Festival, co-sponsored by the West Los Angeles Japanese American Community Center, is held at the park every spring.
